Need help with these couple. I think one is Common Sandpiper but the colouring is a bit off. Taken at St Lucia Estuary.
The bird on the reed's was taken in Moremi area Botswana and the bird in flight taken in the Okavango.
Any help is much appreciated.

1 Seems to be a wet Hartlaub's Babbler, near water? They usually are.

2 Presume this is a Black Tern, though odd that the wings are blacker than the mantle
3 Ditto to Common Sandpiper

2 is a WWB Tern on structure alone. Short stubby bill, no breast smudge, 'head phones' etc

That was my first thought, but then thought (obviously wrongly!) that black wings were even more out-of-place for that! Do they moult to black for the winter?

No idea what's going on with the wings, but can't fit them to any other species :egghead:

Many thanks guys. Had 2 originally as White winged but then the colour thru me.
