Parakeet Identification help (1 Viewer)

Looks like a stuffed Regent Parrot

Possibly from a captive-bred source, given the large 'overbite' of the upper bill, and not from the wild population in Australia - online images show a much smaller upper and lower bill divergence.

Definitely not a Norwegian Blue, but it was nailed to its perch...

I would agree with Larry on this being a regent parrot also known as a rock pebbler

The "overbite" may be attributed to incorrect positioning during the taxidermy proccess. Parrots have a manoeuvrable upper mandible something that is a bit difficult to place in a lifelike manner during taxidermy thus the strange positioning of the beak on this bird. If you can picture it in your mind with the upper mandible rotated a few degree clockwise you will see what resembles a more typical beak placement.
