Descriptions of the behaviour of the Cornwall Dalmation Pelican (1 Viewer)

I'm finding it quite amusing reading descriptions of the pelican on Birdguides, since it has arrived it has been described as :-

"Nonchalantly floating".

"Cruising"

"Lumbering"

"Relaxing"

What is it about the pelican that creates such descriptions compared to other species, which are normally simply present?

Can I ask? Why is the name of this bird consistently misspelled on Birdforum? It is Dalmatian, my predictive text has no other option. Is there a film called 101 Dalmations?

Sorry but the pedant in me has to be voiced occasionally.
