Hi, does this photo show a Great and an Intermediate Egret together? Or is the smaller bird a juv Great egret? Help much appreciated.
Photo was taken on June 7, 2020 just before the gates of Wat LamPho outside of Hat Yai, Songklha province, Thailand.

Which one is the smaller bird? They both look the same size to me.

Hi, I had thought that the one below showed a smaller beak and head size, and body, but maybe that is just the perspective. Your quote is quite appropriate

Gape line clearly extending beyond the eye, both Great as Andy said.
