On holiday in scotland, tried for black throated diver in Summer plumage,at loch Maree. Went t slattadale car park opposite the islands, and straight away saw one, but needed my scope. It kept diving and travelled surprisingly long distances underwater, most frustrating.
This was a first for me in summer Pumage, amazing birds.
 
They are lovely birds, aren't they. I'm so glad you saw one Greater.
