Inca Finch? Sacred Valley, Peru October, 2016 (1 Viewer)

This bird looks like an Inca Finch but I didn't expect to see one in the Sacred Valley. It has a red vent which I can find no mention of in any of the sub-species descriptions. Can anyone help with a positive ID? Thanks.

It's a band-tailed seedeater.

Thanks for your help, it is very much appreciated. The band-tailed seedeater in my book is very grey and I should never have identified the bird without your help. Thanks again.

No worries. I assume you have the Princeton field guide? I was thrown by those fellows at first, as I rarely saw males as uniformly blue grey as depicted.
Here, the bill is your first important clue, it would be longer, thinner, and more pointed in Incaspiza, Phrygilus et al finches. Your bird has a typical seedeater bill. Plus, the rufous rump is a pretty good clue you're looking at a Catamenia (though it's not a feature exclusive to that group).
