Difference b/w Bird house & Nestbox (1 Viewer)

Nothing, really. "Nest box" is a little more precise and "scientific" and therefore preferred by a certain type of birder. Generally when you see it used commercially, the "box" is made to some specifications for a preferred type or types of birds--size of box, entry hole, etc., are designed for bluebirds, or chickadees, or wood ducks, etc., and should be built to the recommendations of experts. A "bird house" is more generic and may not meet some important specifications for some birds--bluebirds need a very specific hole size and no perch, for instance. Often commercially available "bird houses" are more decorative than functional, although some types of birds will nest in almost any kind of bird house or box.

ah. I just thought it had to do with how they are made, the type of would and if there was an opening or not to clean out the houses. I just wasn't sure. Thanks!
