Need help house wrens (1 Viewer)

Someone familiar with House Wren behavior might be able to help here.

We have House Wrens in a Wren house in the back yard that we have been enjoying watching from the kitchen window, feeding their chicks for about two weeks. We've watched them carefully and today, for the first time, we can see one of the chicks (just the mouth -wide open).

So my question is, how long do you suppose it will be before they are gone?

Just trying to schedule some much needed yard work and I don't want to disturb them.

Thanks.

Hi Amanda and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t;

The fledglings leave the nest about 12-18 days after hatching and usually hang around for a few days on the ground and in surrounding bushes while the parents feed them for a few days. So you should be able to do some yard work shortly. Hope this helps you ;)
