French ring as suggested in the linked thread. That's brilliant in itself. As for individual tracing, you may well have the last three digits right there which may permit the individual to be found, however the French scheme have a giant backlog even in terms of reporting back to observers of complete numbers (some people I know are on about 6+ years now?), so if you do submit it, don't hold your breath!
 
Thanks for replying; I'd missed the new posts on my other thread.

I'll never get the whole set of numbers... although I do know where the bird lives, so I'll do close-ups of any ringed Sedge Warblers I see there next time. There's only a few nests there, so there's a chance I'll get lucky ;)
