Think I'd go for Raven, but not an easy pic with the head turned away (can't see the throat hackles or bill size).

That's a nice clear Raven-size bill in the first pic!


Vocal is the big give-away, though - what did they sound like?

Wouldn't be able to say the kind of sound they made but you could hear them from far.

It has been a while since I was in Europe (COVID) and since I saw a raven, but it is a lot easier on a flying bird.
