Just saw a new black bird at my feeder. Shiny black, gray beak and legs and a stripe on its mid wing that goes from bright orange/red to white. A medium sized black bird, does not seem to be a Red Winged Blackbird. Anyone know what it might be?

The amount and color of the wing patch on Red-Winged Blackbirds is variable. They also seem to match your description. Try these photos here. Are you sure this is not what you saw?

Thanks all for the nice welcome and replies. After looking at pictures I am now sure they (it was a pair) were Red-winged Blackbirds. I was excited because I have never seen them at a feeder in my 20 years of watching, only in the field. I remembered them being larger with the color patch higher on the shoulder but you guys were right.
