Hello everyone, I wanted to recommend the new guide "Where to watch birds in Sardinia" that I wrote together with my husband Davide De Rosa, you can find it here https://pelagicpublishing.com/products/where-watch-birds-sardinia-fozzi-de-rosa-9781784271794 or here https://www.nhbs.com/where-to-watch-birds-in-sardinia-book.

"Sardinia is in the middle of the western Mediterranean between Europe and Africa. Its location on the Mediterranean flyway makes it an important refuelling stop for migrating birds – especially on its extensive wetlands. A popular destination for birders and naturalists, Sardinia has a great diversity of fauna and flora, along with rich cultural and historical attractions.

Where to Watch Birds in Sardinia, written by two ornithologists with extensive experience of Sardinian birding, provides detailed information on the 43 key birding sites in Sardinia. For each site the target species are highlighted, along with information on habitat, when to visit, other wildlife, facilities, access, how long you'll need, the photographic opportunities and recommendations for your visit. A map of each site helps with planning and navigation to the site."

Have a good birding trip!

…………...

I'd seen a reference to this book some time ago, but then forgot again. So thanks for the reminder plus links. Looks like an attractive addition to my library, so I've ordered. I have spent many weeks on Sardinia over the past several decades, mainly from Cagliari south. I'm not even sure whether I'll have another chance, but I love the island and want to see what newer things your book has to say. One of my all-time world favorites is San Pietro in the fall with the Eleonora's Falcons.

Yes, I don't know it personally, we usually came by ferry to Porto Torres, so rather close by.
