How much quality should we expect from digiscoping? (1 Viewer)

I was out taking pics of bluebirds a week ago and got a closeup of one at about 20' then a hawk landed in a tree and I took it for identification purposes. After seeing the result I checked out the distance on google E and was surprized to find it was about 350'. Both taken with Kowa 883, 21we EP and sony w300. Lighting was good - late in day. I think if the Redtail was at half the distance it could have been noticably better. Since most of my experience has been digiscoping at close range I was wondering how this compares to DSLR results?

Josef,
This is a good result . A DSLR would have trouble at this distance. The light must have been very clear. Neil.

Yes, Kowa make 2 adapters to allow older eyepieces to work with the new 880/770 series scopes. TSN-EC2 is for eyepieces used with older 820/820M scope series and the TSN-EC3 for the 660/600/TSN/TSN-N scope series eyepieces.

cheers,
Rick
