Hi I have canon 600m non is lense. Anyone know what the m focus speed is best kept on 1 2 or 3 many thanks dave

I assume you mean the Manual Focus speed? I don't have that lens but I used to have the Canon EF 400F2.8 L which used a similar focus system.
If you are using AF then it doesn't matter - it will just focus very well! If you like to use Manual Focus occasionally then I suggest that you try the three different settings. The manual focus on this generation of lenses is simply superb and way in advance of the newer models - wish they still incorporated it on the newer lenses!
With the three different settings you, effectively, have 3 different gear ratios - namely quick and coarse, medium and accurate and slow and spot on!
With my lens the MF settings did not affect the (quick) AF performance but I preferred the slowest/finest setting for manual focus. Have a play and see which you prefer.
