Stella our Mouring Dove
Hello from SW Florida. I have newly joined this group and am hoping Someone may have an answer to why I have a mourning dove that has been in a nest, in a secure hanging light fixture, on my front porch for over three months. Is this common? I have not noticed any babies. I love seeing her every day but I’m hoping this is a normal behavior. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated as would info to if I need to feed her. Thank u and Have a great day.

Hi griffinmaquire, and welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators.
If she hasn’t had any hatchlings then no it is not. The normal incubation period is about 2 weeks with the fledglings leaving the nest about 11-15 days after hatching. Sorry that is about the only help I can offer.

Hi griffinmaquire and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Sorry I can't offer any more advice than Lisa. I don't know what she's up to!
