Hi all,
My better half is in Lyme Regis for a week, any recommendations for good birding sites? I have already told her to go to Portland Bill and the Exe estuary (Dawlish Warren). Any other ideas nearer Lyme.

I will get back to you tomorrow night with some suggestions but for now try Aylesbeare for Darties and go at night for Nightjar, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth (Chit Rocks for Purple Sandpiper), Exmouth (Balearic Shearwater).

Don't forget a trip to Chesil beach, as there have always been some good birds see, and quite a few rarities have been sighted there, so good for migration times too.... And dont forget to look up from the sea to the cliffs at Lyme, as there are some wonderful sights of acrobatic flying from many varieties of birds. Nina.
