I'm in the early stages of plannng a trip to China next May to look for this bird on the Min Jiang estuary and perhaps also to look for Cabot's Tragopan. Can anyone point me in the direction of any useful information on best dates? Access info / local guides for the Tragpona site would also be very useful.

Thanks
alan

Cabot's Tragopan can be seen in several places such as Sanqingshan in Jiangxi,Wuyanling and Baishanzu in Zhejiang,Wuyishan and Longqishan in Fujian,Mangshan in Hunan and Nanling in Guangdong......
Longqishan is 6 hours' drive from Fuzhou while Minjiang Estuary is half an hour's drive from Fuzhou Airport. So u may need two more days for CT after watching CCT.

CCT arrives in late April so mid-May is good, while a few Spoon-billed Sandpiper may also still there in mid-May.
