Tolerance amongst the waders at last....who said avocets scare off all the other waders. These 2 pairs look like ideal neighbours :t:

Visited the flashes late this morning....missed the Dunlin but nice views of a Kingfisher flying across. 2 Grey Wagtails (Sailing Pool) 2 Chiffchaff (Sailing Pool), 1 Curlew, 1 Green Sandpiper showed well, 1 Goldcrest, 3 Grey Herons in flight along with 5 Shoveler.

Didn't have time to go over to Moors Pool and trust the Otter to show.

32 Avocet, 2 Little Egret, 36 Lapwing, 2 Oystercatcher, Snipe, 2 Meadow Pipit, 2 Shoveler, 8 Teal, 2 Chiffchaff

Tuesday work party

Tomorrow, if all goes well should be last work party out on Amy's Marsh.
We have a few tasks to complete in time for the forthcoming breeding season.
This includes :-
Clearing Broadmeadow pool Island.
as well as Pool island.
Also some pruning to improve views from East hide.
Repair fox fence.
cut back and treat a few willows on the east bank and hook.
Finishing off stock fencing.
If water levels are low enough , shore up pool island west end and around pool within the island.
hope to see the 'regular ' and some newbies. :t:
