Shrike ID, Iran (1 Viewer)

These two shrikes are from Alborz range, north of Iran.
The first four pics showing Turkestan Shrike? which presumably breeding there. But it shows black tail and reddish mantle. Maybe another hybrid(with Red-Backed)?

And the last one must be Red-Backed shrike? But that dull mantle makes me wonder

I'm not well up on central Asian shrikes, but the last isn't a normal Red-backed (not red enough on the back!); might be a hybrid / intergrade with one though.

you got them right, adult male breeders, colors are due to season, prey aboundance, indivdual variations and type of habitat which explain the ssp.
