Malaysia V: swifts 2 (1 Viewer)

Well this is getting convoluted, but I promise, these are the last ... swifts :)

1. Fraser's Hill: one would think that such a remarkably dark swift is easy to ID. But there is nothing obvious in the New Holland book and online the lighting is very variable on photos to make conclusions.

The following ones I think are either Germain's or Black-nest Swiftlets, but how do you distinguish between those when the color of the rump is critically dependent on lighting?

So the Glossy Swiftlet steals the price for the worst illustrated bird in the New Holland guide from the Chestnut-capped Laughingthrush :) When you pointed it out, it's pretty obvious! Other pictures that we have also nicely show the whitish belly.
