another mystery part 3 (1 Viewer)

After much thought I will venture a guess. A Magnolia Warbler. I can't see all of the tail so this is just a guess but it is my guess. Plus you didn't say where you saw this bird. I just assumed it was in the north.

After looking through many volumes I agree that it is not a Magnolia however I cannot find one exactly like this one. the yellow under the tail is my problem. every yellow-rumped has white on the underside in all my illustrations. Now as I wish to stand corrected I believe the underside of this bird to just appear to be yellow and will come to a complete agreement with it being a yellow-rumped warbler. Excuse my old eyes.

Yes your right., I did notice the yellowish undertail feathers, not mentioning it, thought it might be a light effect.

I would also suggest there is way too much brown around the upper parts to be magnolia, whereas the brown fits nicely with fall yellow-rumped (myrtle).
