We have noticed that along the Connecticut Shoreline the bird population is greater than in previous years. Black-capped Chickadees, Tufted Titmice and House Finches seem to be more plentiful. I am going through 100 pounds of Sunflower hearts every three weeks whereas in previous years 100 pounds would last 5 to 6 weeks. Talking with others in the area, I found they are experiencing the same. Are there any other areas where you are seeing a greater population of birds? If so, what species?
