Giant Oak leaves, Epping Forest?

Came across this sapling today, aren't the leaves a ''little'' on the large size?

Cheers

I rexkon I've seen larger - also on small trees/saplings. No idea why.

Small saplings of many broadleaved deciduous species often have larger individual leaves than would normally be found on a mature tree. It maximizes light interception in the darker conditions found under the canopy.

Pedunculate Oak Quercus robur on leaf shape. Agree on the larger leaf size with shaded young plants.
