At the end of 2013 my photo life list stands at 655 different birds. During the year, I was lucky enough to add 120 new species and upgrade the images of 46 birds captured in previous years. The birds added and upgraded are in this gallery http://paultavares.smugmug.com/Wildlife/Birds/U13
This year I also added geo-tags to my images to take advantage of the mapping feature in SmugMug. Clicking the globe icon under the large image in the gallery plots the locations of all the images in the gallery on a map with the selected image highlighted in green. Seeing the locations on a map adds another dimension. The maps also allow drill down and zoom by clicking on a pin with a large number.
As in the past three years I produced an updated personal hard copy record using Blurb. A full free preview of this year's yearbook is at this link http://www.blurb.ca/books/4975943-mybirds-of-the-world-2013 This is not meant to be a sales pitch but I find this to be a lot of fun and thought others might give it a go and produce their own.
