    Testing the new monopod

    First time in the field with my new Gitzo G1560. I like it :) Might be more difficult to photograph birds that aren't at eye level but it was just perfect for this kingfisher. This shot was at 1/25 which I would never have gotten off hand-held.

    I went back today at 1030 to digiscope the Blue Beauty. At 1330 it finally turned up and I managed to get this shot. I used the 5D + 50mm/f1.4 + Tamron 1.4X extender + Swarovski 80HD + tripod to take the shot. Distance to bird approx 60-70ft. Pix is cropped. ISO320, f2, 1/60s Hope you like it...
