  1. Double first

    Double first

Ken's woodland hide produced my first pecker photos and this brambling was a first ever seen and photographed for me. What pretty birds! Thanks again Ken.

    Brambling surprise

Couldn't beleive my eyes this morning when I got up a Brambling was on my feeders. I have been all over the place to see one of these and now have one regularly visiting my garden. I am hoping to get some better shots as long as it sticks around.

    A pair of Bramblings

I was so chuffer to have seen these at last and to have got a pair in my lens was amazing:)
  7. Bumbling Brambling

    Bumbling Brambling

These birds seemed to bumble about on this tree, being blown off their perches frequently by gusts of wind that had seemingly no effect on sparrows or other finches. Still, they're lovely birds to watch, and so colourful!

  9. brambling

    brambling

Where I live, the weather is very changeable. Last friday, it rained hard most of the day but there was a short-lived sunny spell by the end of the afternoon. I went out walking near the harbour and this brambling came up and stood at the top of a bush.
  10. Blowing Brambling

    Blowing Brambling

Was a bit windy yesterday, and gloomy, but a brief brighter spell tempted me over to a local reserve centre where brambling had been seen. Didn't take long to spot them, but photographing them was a bit more tricky. The wind was blowing the tree, in which they were sat, all over the place...

    brambling

spent an hour in a friends garden last Saturday and finally got a few brabling shots, shame there was so little light. minor crop, ISO800, f4, 1/250th

    Brambling Male

Another of my visiting Brambling's. Love their colors and very similar to Chaffinch shapes. Couple of the males which come to garden are really starting to get quite dark around the head now.

    Brambling

Shot taken on garden feeders. Must say I look forward to the winter now to have these species visit the garden. They add a bit of color to a dull winters day.

    brambling

This brambling was perched high up in a tree by the path in the reserve. Lots of shadows because of the strong mid-afternoon sunshine.

  20. Brambling Male

    Brambling Male

Another shot taken yesterday on feeds. When the weather is cloudy, a little flash and some seeds, surely help to brighten the day.
  21. the leap of the brambling

    the leap of the brambling

A recent photograph of a brambling in the forest near house. With the snow they make approach themselves and I am also trusting for a photograph
  22. Brambling

    Brambling

Have had up to 6 bramblings in garden past couple days. Some days only couple at time. Trouble is the Alder tree near feeders sometimes creates an untidy background because of so many twigs, etc. Not complaining though. Still glad to see them each winter.
  23. Brambling UpClose

    Brambling UpClose

We have around 6 Bramblings which visit the feeders most days. Last year only had one visit, and in winter 2005 had more than say 20 in flock. I find the winter sunlight being warmer seems to emphasize the Brambling colours a little too much at times. Not to complain, just happy to have them...
  24. Male Brambling

Through the window which takes the sharpness away. Male & female turned up today
