My first Hoopoe in the Kaiserstuhl area in Germany.
You can hear them regularly in that area, and you even can see the Hoopoe in the distance.
It was a long walk in the Kaiserstuhl area and almost without luck, until, finally one sat down
on a post close to us calling. We were so lucky.
I observed this Common Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus ♂) walking at the border of a nature reserve with reed area. Occasionally he stopped by to do his call.
I found it so funny how it looked like he caught balance again after heavily doing his fast wing flapping after his call.

This was the first time for me that I have heard this call of a male Eurasian Blackcap in the forest area on the hill (Lenzenberg) in the Kaiserstuhl area, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. I have never heard this "agitated" sounding call of the Blackcap before.

In December 2014, when I was in the Bunya Mountains National Park, Queensland, Australia, I was able to hear the Catbird calls. The sound was so strange but interesting to me that I wanted to film them with their calls on video. So, in the end I managed to take some videos of the catbirds, and -...

While I was on the Heron Island, in the Great Barrier Reef, the Black Noddies came back in the early evening or late afternoon to rest on the many trees on that island. Although I have also tried to film some of them arriving on that island, this was the best opportunity to film them.
Hereby I...

Call of the Bluethroat filmed in a nature reserve in the northern region of Germany.
At 00:36 - 00:37 mins, 00:42 - 00:43 mins, 00:50 - 00:52 mins and 00:56 - 00:58 mins you can hear the typical call of a common snipe (in flight) in the background.
This was the first Skylark I was able to film. I have heard Skylark singing when I was about to leave a nature reserve and passing a field. When I stopped the car, I first checked the field further away because I did not expect this Skylark to be so close to the border of the field with the...
A group of Grey Partridges on a cabbage field (or rapseed field?) covered with snow.
It seems like they were waiting for their food be uncovered from snow.
Occasionally they were nibbling on the vegetables at the small uncovered spots.
After I stopped the recording because they laid down and did...
A Black-tailed Godwit family with their three chicks in the nature reserve ‘Ochsenmoor’ in Lower Saxony in Germany.
This nature reserve is a joy to observe birds. You can hear a lot of other birds.
These male Northern Shovelers are so beautiful, you cannot stop photographing or filming them. This one was swimming in a brook in a nature reserve in Lower Saxony in Germany.
Although this clip is a bit wobbly I am sharing it, not only because of its beauty but also because you can hear him...
The Willy Wagtail is a very common bird in Australia but it was always a joy watching these.
I filmed this one while calling in Fig Tree Pocket, Queensland, Australia.
Call of the Brown Honeyeater in Carnarvon Gorge, Carnarvon National Park, Queensland, Australia.
This is just a very short clip of the Brown Honeyeater calling.

I filmed this male Satin Bowerbird in the morning of the 31st of December in 2014 while he was calling in the Bunya Mountains National Park, Queensland, Australia. I am sharing this video because you can hear his call in this video.
While I was in the Bunya Mountains National Park, I also...
In this video you can hear the typical call of the Pied Currawong in Carnarvon National Park in Queensland, Australia. Their calls add up to the typical “ambient sound” in that area which really can be recommended for birding.
A male Australasian Figbird vocalizing under a tree in Rubyvale.
This male is the “green” variant which has a more greenish breast.
There is also a “yellow” variant (Sphecotheres flaviventris) which can be seen more in the north of Queensland (for example Port Douglas or Cairns).
(I only have a...
