    Eurasian (European) Blue Tit

This was on the big tree right outside my window. Soon the tree will be in full leaf and block out a large part of the view, but at the moment it gives opportunities for photographing birds foraging for insects etc in its leaflets. Thank you for your comments, stay safe and well, and good...

On our substation roof in January. It's raining buckets at the moment, and the pool is beginning to fill up. It can be a magnet for birds, fingers crossed for a Grey Wagtail.. Thank you for your comments, good birding! John

    Blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus)

In winter you find almost only Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus), they are everywhere but, in the reeds, they look like a demolition company

Thanks for the comments on last Thursday's Red Kite. Yesterday (Saturday) the same bird, or another, was here. It was much higher up, allowing record shots only, but it's good to know they seem back after five years without one. After all that excitement, back to normal with a Blue Tit. Thank...

Thanks to everyone for comments on the BT in flight: here's a heavy crop of one a bit further off, absorbed in vital feather maintenance. This was taken back in January, but the recent rain has replenished the rainwater pool on our little substation and the birds love it, especially in sunny...

Another shot of the individual posted on 13 January. The bird seems to be "leaf gleaning" ie meticulously picking small invertebrates from the undersides of leaves. If viewed in full resolution, what looks like a tiny green food item can be seen at the tip of the bill. Thank you for your...

    On-looker

This Blue Tit came pretty close to where we were standing at the gate, maybe hoping we had some more food to put in that area, but he was out of luck on this occasion.

    Blue in the grey

This Blue Tit found itself on the other side of the road from the feeders, hence the different colour to the background.

    Showed himself at last

A follow up image from yesterday's fun capture. The Blue Tit decided it was no good trying to hide from me after all, and moved round so I could get a better look at him!
