    Found the young grasshopper among the flowers. Not sure of the species......got to get a better insect and butterfly book.

    Something a bit different for a change. Saw this little guy on top of this post today.....little critter only about 1/2 inch long but really patient with me. It looks like a very young Carolina Locust from the markings but I am not sure.

    The grass was all brown, but this grasshopper was still bright green. Those striped eyes were pretty cool too ;) I don't have an insect field guide for North America, but maybe Stanley knows which grasshopper this is ...?
