  1. 'Three in one!'

    'Three in one!'

The 'Little Corellas' are sometimes mistaken for the Long-billed Corella as they tend to congregate together and tear up the ground looking for onion grass (main source of food)....these don't have as much red around their necks and face and are quite perky. I found about 200 of them and today...

  3. Family Portrait

    Family Portrait

A charming group of three that I presume to be a pair with young one, that frequent the trees around our place. Fully fledged young ones have until recently been harassing parents for food, making a dreadful begging sound that would move any parent to stuff some food down it to silence it as...

    'Bet you can't do this!....

After the Rainbow Lorikeets had left about 30 or more Little Corellas invaded the place and they were up to there usual antics! This guy hung by his beak trying to impress me, then he swung up on the wire and then hung on with its feet, wings a flapping, upside down! The windy conditions were...

    'What are you looking at?'...

This I thought might give you a laugh! When Pete and I were going down to the river (reminiscing over years gone by, we worked here for 30 yrs!) near Greensborough the tree at the entrance had several Little Corellas stripping all of the nuts, as I got out of the car these guys just looked at me...

    little corella

These two corellas have just come in from the nearby bush and are scruffy, dirt on the wings etc but I think that adds to their charm
