Attracted to fruit feeders at the lodge were two species of oropendolas, the closer bird on lower left a Montezuma Oropendola, and the more distant bird in the center a Chestnut-headed Oropendola. Both species are in the blackbird-oriole group, and build large pendulous nests in trees.

This bird was a member of a nesting colony in a large tree at the main plaza of the archeological ruins at Tikal National Park in Guatemala. The bird was adjacent to its pendulous nest. The photo shows the pattern of the underside of the head. It was a rainy afternoon.
