    Golden-crowned Kinglet

Often hiding in the canopy of fir and spruce forests, this tiny acrobatic little songbird can be maddeningly difficult to see. Also Their songs and calls are at the upper range of human hearing, thus among the first sounds to disappear as aging birders start to lose their hearing. In this part...

A little better than my last attempt, but lots of room for improvement. Not an every day visitor to my yard so I'll have to be patient for my next attempt.

    Golden Crowned Kinglet

Talk about a difficult bird to get a shot of! I saw this bird flitting around inside a spruce in our yard, but it seemed content to stay deep in the tree.It took me about half an hour before it happened to hop into view, and I to get this shot. Didn't quite nail the focus but if this bird sticks...

    Golden Crowned Kinglet saved

This is a Golden Crowned Kinglet. It hit our window and it seemed like it was not going to make it. My wife picked it up and got it to grip one of her fingers, and did what I call the bird whisperer thing. Sometimes it takes a little time to get them to start to grip the finger. Slowly the grip...

You may be wondering how I got so close to the bird. It bumped into a window and was partly stunned. It allowed me to walk right up to it!

    SAT FUN: FUZZY LOGIC

The process that occurs in your head when you try for an hour to get a clear shot of a Golden Crowned Kinglet flitting around in foliage in poor light using a slow bridge camera, and this is the best you can do, and you come to the conclusion: "GET A DSLR!" lol

    Golden-crowned Kinglet

Not the best of shots as I was battling the sun head on and I'm sure all those blossoms will be gone after the next two nights of temps being in the 20s. But like I said a few days ago, these guys are hard to come by in a still position. ;)
