Tiny and constantly moving, but they seem to be happy even in heavy snow and severe cold.

Unfortunately I was watching this little beauty in poor light , but it stopped to preen for a few seconds and I just had to get its photo :-)

These miniscule birds are perpetual motion machines, and I've spent many an hour chasing them around with shutter finger poised. This one paused for about a second, long enough for my 20D to get 5 frames. Too bad there is obscuring foliage, but then I've never seen one without obscuring...

Only photo of one since they never seem to stay still. This was at Swal Lake last weekend on my usual Sunday birdwalk. I guess birding is like going to church for and the same time of day.

I had them on the ground only for a few minutes. I was at the right place at the right time. Eventually they came so close, that I could no longer focus with the 400.

The kinglets were migrating through Cape May as well but they were much too fast to digiscope so I had to get out the D2x. Even it had trouble keeping up with them. Probably the fastest bird I've tried to photograph. Neil.

This tiny bird is about the size of a bushtit. It is very active. I am only able to pick one out of 40 shots.

Was lucky enough to have this guy busy looking for food . I was able to get several great shots. I have been waiting a long time for a shot that was not in thick brush.
