    I was watching a flock of birds, which included Horned Larks, Snow Buntings and Lapland Longspurs, and in that same cornfield popped up this Snow Goose; I had no idea that the goose was there until he stood up, putting to flight that little flock.

    Park rangers are keeping an eye on this guy to make sure that it is OK. It may have been injured, but is eating fine and acts pretty happy. It should be in Northern Canada by now.

    Another single migrator, this snow goose has been kind of hanging by itself even tho there are lots of Canada Geese here.

    My friend David, who also visits BF took this photo of the blue morph snow goose last year. We sometimes do discuss about tagging. We agree that for "True" scientific study and for benefit of the birds, it is perfectly OK. But there should be some standard set for doing this.

    Our local snow Goose has returned for the Winter.2 years ago there was a pair of these birds.But then only one,and he latched on to a group of Canada Geese and has been with them ever since.They all go elsewhere for the Summer months,but return each Winter.

    Snow Geese (Light Geese) at Bosque del Apache a National Wildlife Refuge in South Central New Mexico. Imaged last December and it will not be long until they are here in masses again.
