Hey guys n gals.
My wife and I recently came back from a trip around Thailand.
One of the locations we stayed at was on the river kwai yai, just down south from the famous Erawan falls.
While kayaking on the river, we heard this eerie high pitched drawn out note from deep in the trees, bushes...
My first Hoopoe in the Kaiserstuhl area in Germany.
You can hear them regularly in that area, and you even can see the Hoopoe in the distance.
It was a long walk in the Kaiserstuhl area and almost without luck, until, finally one sat down
on a post close to us calling. We were so lucky.
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to birding and I'm hoping to get some help with identifying a bird sound that I heard on May 7th in a mountainous area near the Cascata de Bilhó in North Portugal. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get a visual on the bird, but I did record the sound.

I observed this Common Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus ♂) walking at the border of a nature reserve with reed area. Occasionally he stopped by to do his call.
I found it so funny how it looked like he caught balance again after heavily doing his fast wing flapping after his call.
This was the first time for me that I have heard this call of a male Eurasian Blackcap in the forest area on the hill (Lenzenberg) in the Kaiserstuhl area, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. I have never heard this "agitated" sounding call of the Blackcap before.

I came across this bird sound last year which I’ve never heard before. It almost sounds like machine or something. I’m once again hearing them this year but can’t locate them. Would love to find out what they are, Wondering if anyone can identify the bird sound - thanks!
In December 2014, when I was in the Bunya Mountains National Park, Queensland, Australia, I was able to hear the Catbird calls. The sound was so strange but interesting to me that I wanted to film them with their calls on video. So, in the end I managed to take some videos of the catbirds, and -...

While I was on the Heron Island, in the Great Barrier Reef, the Black Noddies came back in the early evening or late afternoon to rest on the many trees on that island. Although I have also tried to film some of them arriving on that island, this was the best opportunity to film them.
Hereby I...

In this video you can hear the typical call of the Pied Currawong in Carnarvon National Park in Queensland, Australia. Their calls add up to the typical “ambient sound” in that area which really can be recommended for birding.
