Zeiss 20x60S Stabilised Binoculars Review
The binocular is 20x60S.
It is heavy and bulky and the button needs to be held down, so virtually a one handed binocular, unless one holds it upside down and lets the weight help the button.
The resolution is superb, about 40% better than the Canon 18x50 IS.
It is optically superb, but probably delicate if dropped.
The field is curved.
It is a fantastic instrument, but you need to be strong to use it for long periods.
It uses magnets, and I don't know how long they last.
The warranty used to be five years, but maybe now ten.
It is near astro quality.
It has faults, mainly old fashioned and quirky.
I think some bird watchers use it instead of a scope.

Thanks. I recall looking at them a few years ago and the general thought was if they broke they. they came a very expensive paperweight
Here is one for $266 on Etsy. Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't. The scammer used pictures from an ended eBay auction for his scammer ad. I reported it to Etsy. Notice the S/N are the same on both binoculars 680846.

I talked to Zeiss about them, and they said they were pretty fragile also and expensive to fix. If they don't work you are looking at about $1500 for repairs. There are all kinds of gimbals, springs and magnets inside them. Kind of like a grandfathers clock. NASA thought enough of them to use them on the space shuttle.

My c.2000 Canon 10x30 IS and Conquest HD 10x42 split Mizar, at least they did five or so years ago when my eyes were better.
Hand held but resting on window glass.
Also Komz 12x45.
The Zeiss 20x60S easily split a 6.5 arcsecond double. Can't remember which one.
So did the Yukon 30x50 folded refractor binocular.
The Canon 18x50 IS split an 8.5 arcsecond double.
That is with 20/15 acuity.
I have seen Titan in a 10x25 binocular from town.
The Zeiss 20x60S will probably split a 4 arcsecond equal double star of medium brightness for someone with exceptional eyesight.

that is so ironic, i just found a similiar scam on offer up,, it looked kind of red-flaggy, did a search on google for the item, clicked on images, and found the ebay ad the scammer stole them from. also reported it but offer up doesn't care.Here is one for $266 on Etsy. what i don't understand is offer-up offers a 2 day money back guarentee for scams,, and they take a regular cc, so the cc company should also refund you,,,, so how does the scammer get away with the money?
I don't think Etsy cares, either. They haven't responded to my message, nor have they removed the ad. What is funny is 20 people have them in their cart, but they are all smart enough not to buy them. HaHa! I think eBay is the only site where you have any protection at all. Buyer beware!

I've got a Zeiss 20x60S Mono (long out of production). I got it at a reasonable price when they went out of production due to lack of demand. Dropped it once, so the stabilizer had to be replaced. That was more than 10 years ago, maybe 15 years? Anyhow, the repair cost about €1000.
That said, unless you drop a 20x60S Mono or the 20x60S binocular you shouldn't really have any problems. I know someone who got his 20x60 immediately after it came onto the market. He uses his pair a lot. Sent it back to Zeiss once to have it cleaned. And that was it.
