Anyone else downloading from newsgroups (Usenet)? (2 Viewers)

I have recently started using Usenet. This is a high speed way of downloading data from servers on the internet. For me that’s mainly movies and MP3 music. I have found and downloaded the BBC series of ´The life of birds” (David Attenborough). I really enjoyed this. Now that I have seen these I would like to know if there is more to be found on Usenet regarding birds. What newsgroups to search? Where to find the NZB files? Does anyone have suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Cheers Peter

You do know that much of the stuff on Usenet is copied and hosted illegally and that downloading from Usenet is probably the best way to invite viruses and other malware onto your system?

I am well aware of the dangers.. A bit of common sense (virus scanners, firewalls etc.) may help to prevents viruses from entering my system but of course you can never be 100% sure. I’ve used Bit torrent clients for many years now but I’ve never had any real problems with viruses (knocking on wood now). With regard to illegal activities I can say that Dutch law is quite liberal as for as downloading is concerned. Uploading is a different issue. That is why Usenet is better then peer-to-peer networks like bit torrent. Another reason to try Usenet. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for sharing this one. I will have a look.
