I attach two shots of different birds taken in different locations and different times. Is it at all possible to identify them ?

The birds at Mai Po last winter are generally considered to be serrirostris: thick necks, dark heads and deep bills with obvious 'grin patch'.

I would have said the Hokkaido birds are also serrirostris.

They aren't easy by any means. I thought they looked a bit long in the neck for serrirostris?
