Where premium quality meets exceptional value. ZEISS Conquest HDX.

Best 10x42 for $1k (1 Viewer)

Makes sense on the concerns, definitely odd they wouldn’t send them in before selling them. I’ve sent them an email, they are closes through Sunday, so I may call Monday if I don’t hear back. I’m leaving towards the UHD 8x42s given the great price and quality. I think I’ll be fine with the weight.

Thr Nikon MHG look interesting too, but I’m thinking thr optics will be better on the UHDs. The Conquest HDX seem interesting too, but we won’t know how good they are until they hit, and the FOV seems relatively narrow compared to others.
Absolutely, UHD all the way. MHG very nice, UHD excellent. 😉

Be very careful browsing internet sales randomly! A pawn shop that knows nothing about optics, selling on eBay? "Bear Basin", a guy working out of his garage who doesn't even stock most items he advertises and gives runarounds instead of refunds? (BBB rating "F", read some of the online complaints.) A Zeiss SF admitted to have a non-working diopter that may be grey market, without US warranty? A series of really bad ideas. It's true that you can get a pre-owned top quality binocular for less, but look for more trustworthy sellers. Be aware that there are Classifieds right here.

Wise words.

I ended up going with the Vortex UHD 8x42s, $899 from EuroOptic. I received them yesterday and upon my limited use yesterday, they seem fantastic so far (Coming from Diamondbacks and Nikon ProStaff).

I appreciate all the inputs from everyone and giving me a shove to the right direction (not eBay and shady dealers).

900 bucks for a brand new alpha (imo) and with a lifetime no questions asked warranty. Had my UHD, EL (8.5) and noctivids out over the weekend late in the day, brightest of the bunch. And doesn’t give up much if anything in sharpness. Enjoy, and let us know your thoughts after using them for a while. The more you use them the more you recognize the level of optics.
