I have completed my RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch for 2024
Bit quiet but my results were
3 Great Tit
2 Greenfinch
4 Blue Tit
2 Robin
2 Magpie
3 Woodpigeon
5 Long Tailed Tit
1 Chaffinch
I don't have a garden, but observing near the Tate Modern:
Cormorant (x 1)
Sparrowhawk (one, male)
Black-headed gull (many)
Lesser black-backed gull (probably 5-6)
Herring gull (many)
Peregrine (at least five individuals)
Feral pigeon
Woodpigeon
Carrion crow
small flock of passerines I couldn't identify, most likely goldfinch but they were some way off and I couldn't see any field marks
Total 58 birds, 18 species. Missed out on the local regular GSW, Nuthatch and Buzzard and occasional black caps. Only count birds in trees, or on ground, not fly overs, unless they land very close by.
Wren 2
Robin 1 (have at least 6 of them usually!)
Blue tit 6
Great tit 3
LTT 3
Marsh tit 1 (usually 2, often up to 4)
Blackbird 3 (have many more)
Chaffinch 2
Wood pigeon 19 (stopped counting at 19, so were more)
Red Kites 4
Pheasant 2
Coal tit 1
Goldfinch 1 (usuall at least 6)
Jay 2
Dunnock 1
Stock dove 3
Carrion Crow 2
Magpie 2
Squirrel 3 (have at least 8-12 running around)
Rat 2
Muntjac 2
11:15 to 12:15 I saw
3 blackbirds
6 bluetits
3 chaffinch
1 coal tit
1 dunnock
6 goldfinch
3 great tits
5 greenfinch
4 sparrows
2 robins
1 wood pigeon
2 green crest
1 GSW.
No show from the wrens or the gazillion of horrible magpies and feral pigeons. The goldcrest was a nice pleasure to see again. Very stressful with my best friend barking at the squirrels.
