I’ve just been sent this by my friend who got this photo sent to him, it was taken in York apparently, any ideas? I am new to birding and have no idea. Thanks 😊

Oh dear, looks like somebody was playing a joke on my friend! It was taken in California not York, UK - I didn’t think it looked like anything I’d ever seen here! Thanks for your replies

Makes sense, I was thinking it looked an awful lot like an Anna's Hummingbird. The tail feathers are shaped correctly for one.

No offence but have you really never heard of hummingbirds before?
