Birding Australia : which state? (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody. After the huge fires in 2020, to avoid watching devastated landscapes without wild life, which states in Australia are the best to be birded in 2024?

Cairns region of Queensland? Not sure how effected it was by fire but I assume the drought hasn't hit that area as bad. Also lots of really cool birdlife/wildlife.

Most of the 2020 fires were much further south of the Cairns region which is a fantastic area for birding.

Have you been to Australia before?
