Blackcap (1 Viewer)

I was very pleased to see a male Blackcap in my garden for the first time today, let alone to see one in January !
It was feeding on bugs on my yet to be pruned Rose, I assumed it was my usual Goldcrest when I first saw the movement...a pleasent surprise.

Had one of those in my garden after the fatball this morning. I was similarly delighted.

I have a male Black Cap visit my garden every day.It feeds on fat balls and a suet block. Its very aggressive and chases off any smaller birds that get near the block. However it sits and waits patiantly when a GS Woodpecker is eating the suet!!
