In the midst of the blizzard here in Raleigh, North Carolina the birds are "chowing down" at our feeders. In the last few hours (1:30 - 4:30 pm EST), while the snow has been blowing, we have had 16 species:

Ruby crowned Kinglet (3)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (3)
Slate-colored Junco (5 - 4 M & 1 F)
Pine Warbler (3)
Carolina Wren (1)
Downy Woodpecker (2 - M&F)
White-throated Sparrow (3)
American Robin (1)
American Goldfinch (3)
Northern Cardinal (3 - 1 M & 2 F)
Eastern Towhee (2 - 1 M & 1 F) - new bird at our feeders - actually scratching around in the snow
Red bellied Woodpecker (1)
Brown-headed Nuthatch (1)
Eastern Bluebird (1 – 1 F)
Mourning Dove (1)
House Finch (3 - 2 M & 1 F)

The only regulars “missing” today are the Tufted Titmouse, and Carolina Chickadee.

They have really been feeding heavily today. The seed level in my tube feeder (4" diameter) has dropped 4 inches since I left for work this morning!! It has been snowing heavily for the last 4 hours, we’ve gotten about 4 inches so far.
