Blue tit nesting habits (1 Viewer)

Hello
Yesterday two bluetits begun nesting in my new nest box. We have a camera watching them and we were totally thrilled to be able to watch them busying away bringing in moss. The female spent the night in the nest box and was last seen at 8am this morning.
Since then, neither birds have been back to continue the nest building. I wondered if anyone with more experience of nesting habits could let me know if it is normal for birds to go awol for several hours? Is it likely they have abandoned already? Or will they be back late/ another day to continue?
