Canaries to Salvador cruise (1 Viewer)

That headline €100 price is 'Taxes and other charges are not included' so is effectively meaningless. A bit like the budget airlines which charge a headline £5 for a flight and then add on £300 in "extras" which are all essential ;)

Click through and I think you'll find they're only €54 per person. Anyway I'm not sure it would be that good for wildlife. Maybe a few shearwaters and petrels, sabine's gull, but a week of it could get a bit boring. Don't know about cetaceans.

I have done 8 cruises, all involved stopping every day or every 2 days:in other words.the ships were never far from land.
It will be most likely the long ocean crossing will be moribund for birdwatching.
If you would like recommendations for decent birdwatching on a cruise then just ask.

I was thinking of the Bay of Biscay cruises which are so good for birds and cetaceans. But of course they are fairly close to land. I'll pass on this then.

There are lots of cruises going through Biscay-to the Canaries,North Africa or to the Med.The Canaries in particular was excellent as Biscay was productive as was the Canaries. Some also go to A Coruna via the French ports which was good for birdwatching.
Any going to the Faroes,Iceland and certainly Svalbad are worth looking at.
If your budget stretches to a Carribean cruise, the seawatchibg is poor but wonderful birdwatching on the islands.

This is not a normal cruise but a ship repositioning on these you can generally go cheap as the ship will leave even if it has no paying passengers. It would be a cheap way to get to Brazil if one has the time assuming you can get to Canaries cheap. As far as birds it would not be all that good except near the Canaries and possibly near Brazil (might be good for Herald petrel etc.)?
