I think the subjects are great, Vlad clearly has some enviable opportunities to get wonderful photos of some very interesting species with some top end camera equipment.

It does have a lot of noise for ISO 800.

Don't forget the image has been saved as a jpeg and compressed,so it will show noise.

It also appears to have been subject to a lot of sharpening, which will increase noise.

What fantasy? The stilt photo has been heavily sharpened as is shown by the pale sharpening halo particularly present along the edges of the bill, the legs and other sections of the bird's outline, particularly the high contrast edges of the crown, the back and the wing-tips. Sharpening to that extent will increase noise.
There's nothing wrong with a bit of sharpening, any RAW image will benefit. It's just that in the case of the stilt, to which we were referring, it's been overdone to the extent that sharpening artefacts are visible, detracting from the image.
