Central Gulf Coast Florida - small shorebird (1 Viewer)

This bird was very shy - hence the awful and blurry pictures. I've never seen this bird here, but we just had a hurricane come through. It was larger than a sparrow, smaller than a robin. Seen on the shore in an area with some mangroves and no real beach. Help on an ID for this bird is much appreciated.
