My problem is too much magnification... and too little field of view.... and this is a knackered old scope with. Light grim here and rain on the window.

Packed in work early and had a wander about the NW corner of Wirral around high tide. Black Tern between Red Rocks and Kings Gap was brilliant ( 2 birds reported around Red Rocks earlier ), 4 (9 counted in total ) Curlew Sands, 2 Yellow-legged Gull, 17 Barwit among the Oystercatcher, Grey Plover, Ringed Plover, Knot, Sanderling, Dunlin and Curlew at Hoylake. c100 Great Black-backs in the gull roost. A fly-through Peregrine showed well. 2 Pale-bellied Brent flew across the estuary towards the Point of Air were 'early' but a single Wheatear in the dunes was the only notable passerine.

Unidentified Wader At Woolston Eye

Don't know if anyone can get down there for a quick look.

I saw a wader drop on to no.3 bed around 2pm with a flock of Lapwing. Three of us couldn't quite work out what this bird is. It's probably something straight forward but the bird it most looked like Collins is a juv Sharp-tailed Sandpiper ( which I'm sure it probabably isn't ) The bird was still present at 2.30pm

Sept 8th - Black Tern at Winsford Bottom Flash; 3 Garganey, 3 Little Stints, 3 Marsh Harriers and 5 Curlew Sandpipers at Burton Mere Wetlands; 2 Curlew Sandpipers, Reed Warbler, 13 Red-legged Partridges and Hobby at Frodsham;
