I went out yesterday "doon the watter" as people would say around here.
Stopped first at Newark Castle in Port Glasgow. Eider ducks, which became pretty ubquitious all day, a couple of black guillemots and the usual suspects of gulls.
Then parked at Tesco in the Port and from the esplanade saw the diver/grebes on the bird identification thread, mute swan, goldeneye, little grebe, cormorants, merganser, redshank, curlew and more eiders.
Moved down to Gourouk, Cloch point where I watched the porpoises, and was pleased with my digiscoping efforts for a change.
Finally stopped off in Largs where I added wigeon, black backed gulls, but by now the sun was so low over the water it became quite difficult.

Now there's an expression that reminds me of my youth!

Some nice shots there; I particularly like the one showing the porpoise. I had a crack at digiscoping a couple of years back but quickly came to the conclusion that capturing images of anything other than rocks or members of the plant kingdom isn't really my forte.

Cheers,

DS
